8.24.2012

There are so many things to remember from the first day...
- My girl is beautiful, you just can't deny the fact. When did she get so big?

- We have been counting down the days. In Sienna's world, everything is "45 days" it kills me. In the last week we started with the "4 more sleeps."

-She woke up pretty early and we were ready by 10:30. I told her that she needed to eat something because I didn't want her to be hungry. She told me she was fine and just wanted to go to school.

- We went out to the bus 25 minutes early. Once the bus was in sight, both kids freaked out!

-The night before we had our big back to school dinner. After the dinner Mee-Mah called to tell her she would come over after her school got out and check on her. My mom informed me later that Sienna was nervous because she didn't know how to "read or write" After she got off the phone I asked her why Mee-Mah got to come to check on her and I didn't. She told me after a slight huff, that I could come, as long as I didn't "bother her or distract her."

I also asked her daddy to give her a fathers blessing the night before she started. This was a yearly tradition at my house and I wanted to continue it. This is actually the first fathers blessing that Steve has given Sienna. She looked so big and reverent sitting in the chair while her dad gave her a beautiful blessing. At the end I looked up and she had tears in her eyes. I know at that point my baby girl had felt the spirit as strongly as I had. When I asked her if she was crying she quickly swiped at her eyes and said "no, my eyes are just burning a little."

-She repeatedly told little man that she was just going to school for a little while but would be home in a couple of hours.

- After dropping Sienna off I took Seth to the Chevron for a doughnut and slushie. When I got in the car with one slushie he started freaking out telling me I needed to go back in and get one for Nenna.

-Sienna is lucky because not only does her Mee-Mah teach school next door, but her Aunt Ruby works in her school twice a week. About an hour into school I received a text from Ruby telling me she checked on Sienna and she was a happy girl. Mee-Mah showed up at the end of the day to help the frazzled kindergarten teachers walk the kids to the bus.

Sienna is getting to that point where she does the "fake" smile thing. It's pretty much impossible to get her to smile normally. I told her to pretend like she was laughing... The picture above was the result!
Of course 2 minutes into our photo shoot we had a little creeper who decided to join in on the fun. Seth is also at the fake smile phase... Plus to add to his smile he had taken a bright yellow marker and drew all around his mouth.

I put Sadie into the picture. My favorite part is her death grip on her hot dog... If you know my Sadie at all this will be no surprise. The girl likes her food. Unfortunately about 2 seconds later, Ruger quickly swiped the hot dog from her little hands... There was quite the meltdown that occurred.

My dad made these cute chalk boards for my moms class. I'm not going to lie, I spent 45 minutes the night before making the two signs. It was a little ridiculous! I can't help but be so grateful for the amazing place that we live. Holy crap is it beautiful up here. Luckily for us we will hopefully be building our own house just to the right and behind that little  chicken coop sooner rather then later!

She didn't even look back... A little hard for this mama to take!

Oh Little Man... Did you have to inherit the constant "Sargent Scowl" from your daddy?

After calling my little sister bawling about the traumatizing day I had sending my baby to school, she and Kaiya drove up from Ogden to console me. The kids were thrilled to go meet Sienna at the end of the lane. Sadie thought she was pretty hot stuff walking down the lane by herself. I usually strap her into the stroller when making this little trek.
Oh baby princess. Can you please stop growing for a minute?
When Sienna got off the bus Seth was beside himself. Sadly for him his sister was a little more excited at seeing Kaiya then him. After several attempts at getting his sisters attention he finally just yelled "Nenna, Hugs, NOW"! I was rolling, apparently this whole sister in school thing is a little too much for him. He would NOT take a nap for me the first day and kept peeking his head out asking if nenna was home yet.
