I never thought we would be able to get Sienna to sleep without the swaddle. I thought she would be 16 and I would be wrapping her up to go to bed. Over the past few weeks we have slowly removed the swaddle from our life... I am so proud that she is doing so well. She looks so big. We have a new bedtime routine. No more rocking we just put her in the crib, she cries for a few minutes then goes to sleep. I do have to go in and remove the blanket from her head. She has to have to over her head and it makes me so nervous so after 10 minutes I go check on her and remove the blanket. It's a big accomplishment to get over the swaddle... Next up, the Bink...

It's hard having your kids grow up. I think Sienna is beautiful, we wished we knew her. Good luck with the bink!
Two big accomplishments, one for Sienna and one for your mom. Good job with the swaddle. It is hard to give up things that have been working for you; hard for baby and parents! I didn't know your mom was back in school, way to go. I hope someday to go back to school for my masters, it just shows that you can do it whenever, even if it is when your kids are all grown up.
Yeah for the swaddle retirement! I still can't believe she liked it so much--Jack hated it from day 1! I, too, have thought of having him give up his binky soon, but I'm not quite sure that I'm ready for that, it is our saving grace when it is bedtime or naptime.
Congrats to your mom--I didn't even know she was back in school! That is quite an accomplishment, where has she accepted a position?
Oh no, are you kind of sad that she doesn't need the swaddle anymore? It's concrete evidence that she is growing up. She does look adorable sleeping. I love sleeping baby pictures.
Also, tell your mom congratulations from me. What a great accomplishment!
Congrats! e-mail me your e-mail address to bestamyever@gmail.com so we can invite you to our blog! we are going private. -amy and Zach
I hear ya on the binki, But they looks so cute with that! Suck , suck, smile! But it is getting to be that time! She looks so comfy!
Don't worry, the crying will end soon. It doesn't take long for them to realize that it is bed time. That was the hardest part for me, knowing that she was in there crying.
Steve!! Dude, I stumbled across your family's blog and I couldn't resist posting a comment. It looks like you're doing well! Nice to catch up on your life a little bit. Stop in and say hi!

Congrats on the swaddle and good luck with the bink. I had Britton all but off of it by 15 months and then he had a horrible reaction to his MMR shot and Eric went and bought him 4 new ones! Needless to say...our struggle still continues, even if he only gets it for bedtime and naps. If you learn any great tricks, fill us in!
And hooray for your mom! Where is she going to be teaching? She'll be awesome! Please send her my congrats!
