5.17.2012

My baby girl graduated from pre-school last night. She was amazing and beautiful. I am amazed at how much she has learned and how poised she is. We went to her kindergarten test today and she did such a great job. I tried to convince her to not know anything so she could get into all day kindergarten but she was not going for it. How did my baby girl get so old.

Lately Grandpa Seth has been giving me crap about allowing the kids to play outside without a coat on. He would often tell me that I was a "Francis Mother" and that his mom always said only Francis mothers would allow their kids to play outside in the springtime without a coat on. We went to lava this weekend and sienna was sitting on the couch playing nicki's I touch. I walked in the door and my mom said something to me and all of a sudden you hear sienna say "don't call my mom a Francis mother, she hates it when you call her a Francis mother." My dad was dying. Apparently I get a little worked up when called that.Later on Seth woke up in the middle of the night and my mom heard him and went and got him and put him in bed with my dad and her. After a few minutes laying there Seth would say " bampa" "sleeping?" then a train would go by and he would sit up and say "train? Loud...." Grandpa was not impressed with his middle of the night visitor.

Sadie @ 9 months
wears a size 2 diaper
Can still wear newborn onesies but wears 3-6 month clothes
She got super sick a few weeks ago. First she was hit with the stomach flu and then caught a respiratory infection that required her to be on oxygen for a week.
Has no teeth. I have a sneaking suspicion she will get them all at once.
Loves Seth and gets super excited to see him. She often coughs to get his attention.
She just starting to give kisses.
Still nurses a lot
Will take a sippy cup of almond milk
Crawls all over but still does the army crawl
Loves the kitties
Waves at everyone with her prom wave
Smiles at everyone
Loves to be outside
Has slept through the night the last two night...

Seth update
Has not slowed down since surgery. If you watch closely he will have a slight limp but it's hard to notice.
He thinks everything will eat him... Birds, cows, horses, dogs, raccoons, the Easter bunny
Saw the Easter bunny at wal-mart and flipped out screaming the Easter bunny was going to "eat him" he would not get a picture with him
He was mad this morning when he woke up and the easter bunny didn't come again.
Daily conversation with Seth
Seth what do the coons do
"eat me"
What does daddy do?
"shoot it"
What does mommy do?
"saves me"
We are working on potty training. He's doing pretty good and loved peeing outside on the rocks
Has turned his obsession from mater to monster trucks
He has a lisp. I hope he grows out of this, if not we will need to put him in speech therapy

Sienna Update
She came out of pre-school and informed me she is "so ready for kindergarten"
Teases the heck out of Seth
At times makes Seth laugh harder then anyone else
It's scary the stuff she remembers
Went to Disneyland with mee-mah and grandpa. They surprised her and didn't tell her where they were until they got to downtown Disney she looked at mee-mah and said "I'm confused, I don't know what's going on."
While coloring Easter eggs she told me they were going to be so vibrating

Today Steve got home from work and noticed that Seth's hair had been cut...
Great mom moment realizing I haven't noticed it...
I started to ask and find out the situation and asked Sienna if she had seen little man cut his hair. She responded with yes. I asked her if she knew where the scissors were and she quickly ran and got them. I keep most scissors hidden for this very reason. I have repeated often that we do not cut hair only mee-mah or someone at the salon cuts hair. Later on, when the kids were in the tub I started thinking about the situation. I asked little man if he had cut his hair... His response "yep" I asked why and he said "cause" I then looked at Sienna who had guilty written all over her face. I had just taken her earlier in the day to get her hair cut and thought it was a little fishy that little man decided to cut his hair the exact same day. I turned to sienna and asked her if she was sure little man cut his hair and not her. She quickly kicked in to drama queen mode and started caring. " I cut it, I just wanted to make it look good." in her defense I have been saying daily that I needed to get little mans hair cut because it looked horrible. I asked her if she had been to school to learn how to cut hair but she just said "no, I just know how to do it better." I was pretty much dying. First of all it actually did look better then it originally looked and 2nd she was just so determined she could do it. After our long conversation about the dangers of scissors, the repeated times I told her she was not to cut anyone's hair ect. I asked her what the appropriate punishment should be for not only cutting her brothers hair, but lying to me. She went on and on about how she didn't know and finally came to the conclusion that she shouldn't get stickers on her chore chart... Sorry sweetie I'm pretty sure that cutting our brothers hair was Not on the chore chart...

8.24.2012

There are so many things to remember from the first day...
- My girl is beautiful, you just can't deny the fact. When did she get so big?

- We have been counting down the days. In Sienna's world, everything is "45 days" it kills me. In the last week we started with the "4 more sleeps."

-She woke up pretty early and we were ready by 10:30. I told her that she needed to eat something because I didn't want her to be hungry. She told me she was fine and just wanted to go to school.

- We went out to the bus 25 minutes early. Once the bus was in sight, both kids freaked out!

-The night before we had our big back to school dinner. After the dinner Mee-Mah called to tell her she would come over after her school got out and check on her. My mom informed me later that Sienna was nervous because she didn't know how to "read or write" After she got off the phone I asked her why Mee-Mah got to come to check on her and I didn't. She told me after a slight huff, that I could come, as long as I didn't "bother her or distract her."

I also asked her daddy to give her a fathers blessing the night before she started. This was a yearly tradition at my house and I wanted to continue it. This is actually the first fathers blessing that Steve has given Sienna. She looked so big and reverent sitting in the chair while her dad gave her a beautiful blessing. At the end I looked up and she had tears in her eyes. I know at that point my baby girl had felt the spirit as strongly as I had. When I asked her if she was crying she quickly swiped at her eyes and said "no, my eyes are just burning a little."

-She repeatedly told little man that she was just going to school for a little while but would be home in a couple of hours.

- After dropping Sienna off I took Seth to the Chevron for a doughnut and slushie. When I got in the car with one slushie he started freaking out telling me I needed to go back in and get one for Nenna.

-Sienna is lucky because not only does her Mee-Mah teach school next door, but her Aunt Ruby works in her school twice a week. About an hour into school I received a text from Ruby telling me she checked on Sienna and she was a happy girl. Mee-Mah showed up at the end of the day to help the frazzled kindergarten teachers walk the kids to the bus.

Sienna is getting to that point where she does the "fake" smile thing. It's pretty much impossible to get her to smile normally. I told her to pretend like she was laughing... The picture above was the result!
Of course 2 minutes into our photo shoot we had a little creeper who decided to join in on the fun. Seth is also at the fake smile phase... Plus to add to his smile he had taken a bright yellow marker and drew all around his mouth.

I put Sadie into the picture. My favorite part is her death grip on her hot dog... If you know my Sadie at all this will be no surprise. The girl likes her food. Unfortunately about 2 seconds later, Ruger quickly swiped the hot dog from her little hands... There was quite the meltdown that occurred.

My dad made these cute chalk boards for my moms class. I'm not going to lie, I spent 45 minutes the night before making the two signs. It was a little ridiculous! I can't help but be so grateful for the amazing place that we live. Holy crap is it beautiful up here. Luckily for us we will hopefully be building our own house just to the right and behind that little  chicken coop sooner rather then later!

She didn't even look back... A little hard for this mama to take!

Oh Little Man... Did you have to inherit the constant "Sargent Scowl" from your daddy?

After calling my little sister bawling about the traumatizing day I had sending my baby to school, she and Kaiya drove up from Ogden to console me. The kids were thrilled to go meet Sienna at the end of the lane. Sadie thought she was pretty hot stuff walking down the lane by herself. I usually strap her into the stroller when making this little trek.
Oh baby princess. Can you please stop growing for a minute?
When Sienna got off the bus Seth was beside himself. Sadly for him his sister was a little more excited at seeing Kaiya then him. After several attempts at getting his sisters attention he finally just yelled "Nenna, Hugs, NOW"! I was rolling, apparently this whole sister in school thing is a little too much for him. He would NOT take a nap for me the first day and kept peeking his head out asking if nenna was home yet.

 - Tonight I made chocolate dipped strawberries and little man informed me that they were licious.
- While trying to convince Seth that I was his favorite Sienna chimed in asking Seth "which parent is our favorite?

1.18.2012

A few funny things.
Seth now refers to himself as mater. At the hospital when the nurses would ask his name he would quietly whisper "mater"

Mee- mah has been picking sienna up from the office. We came home and she told me she watched the best movie called oil. It had a girl named sandy and a boy named Danny. It took me a minute but finally figured out she watched Greece....

Sadie @ 6 months
- She smiles all the time.
- Still likes her brother but not too close.
- She is starting to get a "Seth" scream.
- She loves to reach her little hand out to touch your face.
-She's doing my all time favorite thing which is to reach her little hand up for kisses while nursing.
-At her 6 month check she only weighed 14.2 pounds 15% for weight and 50% for height.
-She is becoming mobile. She is doing the scoot belly crawl by pushing off of her left leg
-She loves blowing bubbles
-Loves the bath
-Wears a size 2 diaper and 6-9 month clothes
-Is not doing great on the sleeping through the night. She's proving to be super stubborn.
-I can't seem to get her on a schedule which doesn't sit well with this super schedule mama.
-She still will NOT take a bottle but I did leave her for a whole 5 hours with her daddy now that she is eating -solids.

Sienna learned how to ride her bike without training wheels on Saturday. Steve worked with her for maybe 30 minutes last week and she just made up her mind and came running into the house informing me she was riding her bike without "stabilizers"
