Sienna's 3 year old Birthday wishes all came true...

Birthday morning we woke her up and gave her the full Cinderella costume she had asked for her. She was so excited and continued to wear it every waking moment... Until yesterday when she spilled finger nail polish all over it... Then is was taken away because she knew she was not suppose to play with the polish. I'm pretty sure I cried harder then she did over this. It is now at Mee-Mahs house being repaired from the crisis...

This was her birthday cake. My niece Brooke made it and Sienna LOVED it. The night before her party Steve brought it in the house. Sienna wanted to taste "just a little bit" so it was taken over to the grandparents house so the temptation wasn't so close...
All ready for her Princess Tea Party
Aunt Nicki drove up and missed the last BYU home game just to be there for Sienna. She was put in charge of the finger nail painting station and did a fabulous job... Thanks for helping Aunt Nick...

Oh, man what can I say about these three... Whenever I see them together all I can think about is how much trouble we are in for in the future. Alyssa, Emma & Sienna are the best of friends and I feel so blessed to have these sweet little girls live so close to us & be such a huge part of our lives. Not many girls have built in best friend cousins... They all looked so beautiful and I actually got a little teary looking at them. They look so big and are so cute together.
The whole gang... Sienna, Alyssa, Emma, Kamryn, Abby, Lexie, Anya & Ella...
Make a wish...
My little family... I feel so much Love looking at these 3...
Poor baby boy is in for a lot of kissing with these two...
And the picture below is Steve's solution to forgetting the baby bjorn. It worked pretty well! I love baby Seths face in this picture...

Sienna had a fabulous birthday... I can't beleive that my sweet baby girl is 3. I know it sounds cliche but it really feels like we were just bringing her home from the hospital last month. I took her to her 3 year old check up today and here are her stats:
Height: 3' 2" = 75%
Weight: 27 lbs 8 oz = 20 %

Some fun facts about my little princess:
- Her favorite movie is Snow white & Cinderella
- Whenever the movie Cinderella gets to the part where the Ugly Step Sisters rips apart Cinderellas dress, she runs upstairs crying
- Same thing happens when the seven dwarfs are standing around Snow White's coffin crying.
- She has learned to verbalize her anger and frustration very well. She used to growl at us when she was mad, now she tells me "i'm very angry and you" or "I'm very mad at you"
- She is quite the litte negotiator. We have learned the only thing that works with discipline is to take her favorite things away. Last week I was headed to exercise and Sienna had her Cinderella doll and Snow White doll taken away during the day. The minute I walked out the door Sienna was telling her daddy to get the dolls down while mom was gone because "she will never know because she's not home..."
- She's really into dressing up in all things. Whenever she puts a dress on she will twirl around and say "look at my beautiful dress... It's just like Snow Whites..."
- She loves Miss Spiders Sunny Patch & Clifford the Big Red Dog...
-She calls her baby brother Little man and every morning comes into my bedroom cooing at him saying "how's my handsome little man?"
- She loves reading books with her daddy at night. One book often turns into 10 books and her most favorite books she has memorized and if you stop reading she will pick up where you left off.
- Whenever she sees Grandpa Seth or Grandpa Jack she will hide by putting her hands over her eyes. She's still at the stage where she thinks if she can't see you, you can't see her.
- She sings absolutely EVERYTHING and I'm not going to lie, she's not the best singer. Her favorite songs include the snow white song "I'm wishing" and the Cinderella song that the mice sing... Sienna's version of the Cinderella song goes like this...
"Cinderelli cinderelli Night and day it's cinderelli,
she's on fire, she's on fire
do the dishes, do the laundry...
She goes around in circles and she's really really dizzy..."
- She LOVES her daddy but unfortunately he got the first "I hate my daddy" last week after placing her on time out... Seriously it about broke his heart.

I feel so lucky that she chose me to be her mom... It's been a challenge, no lie there, but I worthwhile challenge. My mom & dad prayed I would get a child just like me and they are now feeling guilty for wishing that upon me. She is stubborn and hard headed and as independent and it gets. Everything she does is done on her terms and there is no way around it. Even with the challenges that arise from our clashing personalities, (since we are pretty much the same in every way possible) it's still worth it and I feel so lucky to learn a little more about myself everyday through her. I have decided to live vicariously through my baby girl and want to sign her up for Ariel ski Jumping... Do you thing 3 is to early to start training? Wait, maybe I better teach her how to ski first... Hopefully by her next birthday she will be an excellent ski jumper... Here's to another eventful and trying year with my sweet Sienna Bienna... We really do love you so much baby girl and I wake up every morning wondering what you are going to make me laugh about that day!!! Happy Birthday!!!

2 Month Stats...

My almost 3 year old baby girl... We are in full preparation mode for her birthday party on Saturday...

2 month Stats...
Weight: 12 Lbs 5 oz = 80%
Height: 23 inches = 55%

On Sunday I informed Steve I was finally coming out of the Newborn fog...
I'm not sure if it's from the baby finally getting on a more regular schedule,
or the anxiety medicine the Dr. put me on to overcome my hyperventilating at the thought of
anyone touching or coming near my child for fear of him getting sick...
One thing I know for sure...
I don't want to repeat the whole Primary Children's experience.
I was paranoid before, trust me just ask my husband, but that made it 100% worse.
I would literally start to panic if anyone came near him.
The lady at the grocery store who chose to uncover him almost got taken down by this mama...
I'm feeling a lot more sane. I still freak out a little bit, and prefer to keep him covered in public, and don't really want anyone touching him still... BUT the need to rip peoples heads off has gone away. Baby boy is getting SO BIG!!! He has earned the nick name tank... This kid is going to be just like his daddy, I can already tell. Sienna didn't hit the 12 pound mark until 6 months old, he hit it before 2... He looks a lot older then he is because he has such good head control and he is so big. I'm just not used to having a chunky baby and I love it! Ever since he got sick he feels like someone needs to be holding him at all times. All of the things we spent money on to entertain Sienna doesn't help a bit. I often find myself snuggling him all day and avoiding all the things that I should have done. Luckily for me, my sweet Dr informed my husband to never come home and look around and ask what I did all day... He has been very patient and on the weekends sees what I am dealing with when baby boy screams to be held. Personally I secretly like it. Sienna never wanted to cuddle so I am enjoying every snuggle I get from baby boy...
Sienna is still being so good with baby brother... (Minus the episode we had two days ago of her randomly walking up to him and hitting him on the head...) Her birthday is this Saturday and she couldn't be more excited. She is having a Princess Tea party with all of her cousins and friends and the only thing she asked for is a Cinderella dress... Thanks heavens for Aunt Ruby and Aunt Tasia who went to several stores around Disneyland searching for the whole outfit. Steve was disgusted by how much money we spent on the whole thing... He told me he should have just bought her a prom dress... I kept it to myself just how much my prom dress actually was but I did see my dad hysterically laughing in the background... I'm sure he will enjoy seeing all the things that daddy's little princess will talk him into buying... We decided to take Sienna to Disneyland since her obsession with all things Snow White & Cinderella has taken over our house. We go the first week in April and Sienna has already invited her boyfriend Rexipoo (Rex Mithchell) along... She informed Grandpa that he would be paying for Rex to come along. When Rex's wife Melanie asked if she could come too, things didn't look so hot for her. Now all she can talk about is Disneyland and we're crossing our fingers that Uncle Cody lets the cousins come and join us for our Disneyland adventure. I know Sienna would have so much fun having Brookie, Savie & Porter come with her... So Uncle Cody, stop being a scrooge and commit... :) How many times do your kids get to go to Disneyland with Sienna and mee-mah & Grandpa? (Was that a good plug Kath??? He He...

Go Utes... I mean Cougers....

I've been asking Nicki for this picture since October. I just got it Sunday... So this is Nicki, my dad and baby girl at Nicki's graduation from nursing school... YEAH we are so proud of you Nicki!

Sienna was invited along for a date night with Daddy & Aunt Nicki...
Nicki offered BYU basketball tickets and since the mama is a die hard Utah fan,
Sienna got to go as his date!
They had so much fun, but the highlight of the night was meeting "Cosmo"
Uncle Nate totally hooked Sienna up. He went and rounded up Cosmo to come and meet they baby girl. She LOVED it, but I was told it was a good thing Nate was holding her. She only liked him from the security of his arms.
The minute she walked into the door from the game she went off about how great Cosmo was
and asked if I wanted to go meet him with her tomorrow... So Cute!
I Originally wanted to dress her in head to toe RED but daddy informed me he
wouldn't take her if she wasn't dressed in BLUE!!!

Flashback to 1 year ago...

One year ago we were Here....

This year... Worst day ever with baby bug!

So last year at this time we were in Kauai...
This year...
Primary Childrens Hospital with a baby boy
who was not ever a thought while in Kauai last year!!!
Seth has been sick for the past week & a half. I took him to the doctor and he had an ear infection so we started antibiotics. After a week of that he still had a fever... We went back to the doctor and the ears looked fine so she told us to watch him. Two days later, the fever would not break so back to the doctor. They ended up sending us to Primarys. After blood draws, IV's catheters and a spinal tap that they had to do twice because the first one had blood in it, he was diagnosed with metopneumovirus & bronchilitis. Let's just say, it wasn't the best two days. It was so sad holding my little mans hands through all the pokes and crap they put him through. Thank heavens we live so close to such an amazing facility that specializes in kids. The nurses were AMAZING and that made the stay a little easier. I actually did pretty well until Steve got there after all the tests were run. He waslked in and I lost it. RSV season started the week before so the hospital was packed. We ended up in a shared room with a Meth Whore (Steve's words, not mine) Her baby was SOOOO sick! It was the saddest thing ever. She would cry in the night and the mom wouldn't even get her out of the crib to console her. She would page the nurses to come and cosonle her baby. Huge difference between her and I. Her baby spent the ENITRE time in the crib, my baby didn't spend any time in the crip. He was always in one of our arms being loved and cosoled. Luckily (not really for her but for me) Tasia & Jeremy were downstairs with Emma so I felt a little support knowing she was just downstairs, even though it sucked for her having Emma with RSV again. The doctor let me know he would need to be locked in a room for the rest of the winter. This made me feel good because it's been world war 3 around here between Steve and I. I have wanted to have everyone kept out... Especially kids!!! He thought I was acting like a hormonal crazy person! It was nice to have a doctor inform him that I was actually really smart in my thinking and correct... So, as much as I love everyone... Please stay away until May! ;) I just can't chance getting the little guy sick. Unfortunately Sienna will be on lock down as well... If she goes out, she can bring in back home... Can't chance that either. He is doing better now, and he's oh so cute! I promise to post lots of pictures. But I can say, I sure wish we were in Kauai, not in this snow packed, RSV infected NIGHTMARE!!!

Conversation between daddy and the baby girl...

Sienna: "Daddy I love you but you don't listen to me"
Daddy: "oh yeah"
Sienna "it just hurts my heart"
Man, Can't wait for the teenage years!

First 3 weeks in pictures...

Christmas Morning... Santa didn't know what a big hit the Snow White costume was going to be so he bought a piece of crap one and now the child won't take it off... Every time I wash it (which is daily) I keep thinking it's going to fall apart. Needless to say, we are going to need to invest in a new one for her upcoming birthday! The funniest thing was watching her walk in the High Heels. She would not take them off and I got very nervous watching her go up and down the stairs. I have convinced her that wearing high heels in the middle of winter is not the best choice, so now she will wear her uggs until we get to our intednded destination and then quickly switch into her High Heels. Another investment for the birthday will be a sturdier pair of high heels with straps...
We had a great Christmas Eve and Christmas. Being on bed rest 3 weeks prior to having this little bugger and then having him the week before Christmas put a definite damper on Christmas shopping... SO, Steve and I exchanged baby Seth for Christmas. I can't think of a better Christmas gift in the whole wide world. Sienna made out like a thief when Santa found her, I will have to get the Christmas morning pictures from Aunt Kath... Being the crazy, anxiety ridden postpartum mama, I didn't get many pictures. I was just concentrating on not hyperventilating during all the Christmas Mayhem.
The famous Superman hold
Her new "fake" smile... At least her hair is done in this picutre!

First time meeting Nana... I told everyone I was pregnant the night nana had her stroke. It's hard to believe that my poor little Grandma had this happen to her. Baby Seth loved seeing Nana. I just wish I would have got a picture with Grandpa Grant & baby Seth... Our next visit for sure, and hopefully by then I'll have a new camera instead of my camera phone.

He sleeps just like his daddy...
Mouth Wide Open!
Due to the swine flu outbreak, Sienna didn't get to hold baby brother in the hospital. She did get to see him through the nursery window, but I just don't think it's the same. The day that we brought him home she sat and held him for 30 minutes. I've never seen this child sit in the same place for that long... EVER!!! She kept rubbing his head and giving him kisses. I am very paranoid about letting her kiss other peoples babies, because frankly I don't want kids kissing my baby, so she kept looking up at me asking for permission to kiss him. I told her she could kiss him whenever she wanted, as long as she wasn't sick... Unfortunatly, she is now sick, but so is the baby. So much for being the over-paranoid mom trying to get him through the first couple of months without getting sick... :(
Sienna's baby had to get in on the feeding. I find myself in the position A LOT... Me feeding brother and Sienna snuggled up next to me.
I told Steve today that my definition of love is pretty much this picture. The only thing that would define it even better would be to have Sienna in the picture as well. I can't look at the 3 members of my family without literally swelling with pride. I often just burst into tears because I can't believe how much I can love these 3 people. My biggest fear before having Seth was that I wouldn't be able to love him as much as I love Sienna. My mom and Steve would get so mad at me telling me to stop saying that, but it really was a fear of mine... Now, I can't imagine how I could think that. I guess the heart can love more then you think...

I know this picture is blurry but I thought it was pretty funny. It looks like baby brother is kicking her butt!!!

Sienna has been suprisingly good with the baby around. I thought for sure we were going to have major issues, especially after Steve went back to work. He was able to take the first week off to spend time with us and it was hard to send him back to work. We had a few melt downs in the morning when Sienna would wake up and realize daddy wasn't home, but other then a few minor meltdowns. Last week she did grab her boobs and inform us her milk was coming in, and the promptly out her baby up to nurse... That waspretty funny. And then while I was feeding him, she wanted her milk re-filled right then and when I didn't do it fast enough she threw her sippy cup at me and hit brother in the head. But other then that she pretty much just worships the kid. The minute he starts to cry, she comes running saying "it's okay sweetie" in this high pitched voice that makes me laugh every time...It's hard juggling the two kids... I often feel like i'm neglecting Sienna and being really impatient with her. She actually informed me I was being impatient with her. I think we'll get it down in the coming weeks but it is a big adjustment. I really don't know how people have more then two kids!!! You all are amazing if you can do it!
